When it Comes to Glass Damage, Prevention Is a Hundred Times Better than a Cure.
There are few materials in the construction industry that are as easily damaged as glass. Not only is it extremely fragile, any scratches or pitting are difficult to hide. And anyone who’s tried to repair a damaged pane of glass knows how hard it is to carry out a convincing job. And even with limited damage to a pane, a poorly carried out repair job can actually make matters worse, rather than better.
But when it comes to protecting glass, Omniguard is the product to choose, because:
- Easy spray application
- It sets quickly
- remains effective for up to 12 months
- easily peel off the protective layer
- extensive application in construction projects such as car showrooms
Omniguard Provides a Quick, Clean Protective Solution to All Your Construction Needs
WHEN TO PROTECT YOUR GLASS
One of the most common, and frustrating, forms of glass damage is spatter. This can be inflicted by either a welder or angle grinder, when used too close to an unprotected pane of glass. With weld spatter, the weld slag burns into the glass at high temperatures, sometimes getting as far as 0.8 mm deep, leaving unsightly burn marks on the surface. Grind spatter is the result of sparks from nearby grinding work, which embed particles of metal into the glass surface. The particles either burn into the glass, or simply fall off leaving a dimple. Whether grind or weld, the result of spatter on unprotected glass is an ugly layer of dark burn marks.
Once the damage is done, there’s really not a whole lot you can do about it. If you’re fortunate enough to only cause a few marks, you can always try and polish down the glass. However, given the depth that spatter can go down to, polishing isn’t an easy task for an amateur. On top of that, if you use the wrong tools, or if there are any abrasive particles in your polishing cloth, you could easily find yourself making matters worse. Professional polishers are an option, but not a cheap one. Ultimately, prevention is far better than a cure, and even for the largest of projects, there are effective options available.
HOW DOES OMNIGUARD PROTECT GLASS?
Omniguard NF is one such product, and it’s the ideal glass protection solution, no matter the size of the job. One of the major benefits of Omniguard NF is its easy spray application. A protective layer can be quickly and conveniently applied to a glass pane (or any other fragile surface that may need protecting during a project). It sets quickly, forming a single contiguous protective coating over the surface that protects it from spatter, as well as any of the other construction site hazards that could cause scratches or damage. Omniguard NF remains effective for up to twelve months. And once the surface is no longer at risk, you can simply peel off the entire protective layer by hand. Omniguard NF has already found extensive application in construction projects such as car showrooms. And given its versatile nature, it’s an ideal tool to keep to hand in a workshop or garage. Omniguard can be spray-applied, or simply painted on with a brush or roller.
There’s no way to completely eliminate the risk of damage to glass during a project. However, given the high costs and often unsatisfactory results of repairs to glass damage, any precaution against risks is worth taking. Omniguard NF has been designed to be the most versatile and convenient glass protection product on the market. And with three different options for application, it’s ideal for just about any size or shape of surface, no matter what the project.
Omniguard has a proven track record in a number of different industries and projects. Common applications include:
Omniguard NF can be easily spray applied to windows, as well as lacquered, PVC or painted surfaces. Once coated, the surface is safe from any damage by nearby construction work. Omniguard NF is a water-based product, easy to apply and safe for use both inside and outside. Once dry, the protective lining adheres to a surface, providing a coating that can remain in place for up to 12 months. Once the project is complete, the lining can be simply peeled off by hand, leaving no trace of residue on the surface.
Omniguard NF has found extensive applications in car showrooms, as well as a wide range of construction projects where glass or fragile surfaces are at risk of damage. An easy, fast application and quick removal make it a unique choice of protective coating solution.
Omniguard 110NP is a spray-applied protective coating designed to adhere to concrete surfaces. It provides a solid, flexible protective foil specifically designed for use on concrete, including architectonic concrete and poly concrete. The coating provides an effective protection against the daily hazards of a construction site, and can be kept in place for between 12 and 18 months.
Once a project is finished and the concrete surface is no longer at risk, it can simply be peeled off by hand, in one single sheet. This protective coating can adhere to practically any surface, and once in place, it stays attached to the concrete.
